Srinagar, July 12: National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah has said a big thank you to thousands of people who sent in their suggestions to be incorporated in the party’s manifesto for the Assembly polls.
Omar in his capacity as the second most important person in National Conference after his father and president of the party Farooq Abdullah, acknowledged that thousands of emails received by the manifesto committee “greatly encouraged and our efforts to make this document (manifesto) truly representative of the people.”
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Omar also assured that “all ideas, suggestions and advice are being compiled and will be presented to the manifesto committee.” The manifesto panel headed by veteran leader and former minister Abdul Rahim Rather had invited suggestions from public on July 5. The week’s time for the suggestions came to end on Friday- July 12. Omar declared: “As we close to this window for email submissions, please know that our commitment to listening to you does not end here,’ as he assured: We are always open to your feedback, advice and suggestions.”
This is the full text of Omar’s post: Thank you to everyone who emailed us about the manifesto. We are overwhelmed by the response, having received thousands of emails and replied to each one. The renewed faith in the JKNC has greatly encouraged our efforts to make this document truly representative of the people. All ideas, suggestions, and advice are being compiled and will be presented to the manifesto committee at their next meeting. As we close this window for email submissions, please know that our commitment to listening to you does not end here. We are always open to your feedback, advice, and suggestions. Once again, we thank you for your support.”
