Senior leaders urge newly elected party leaders to stay active and strengthen party at the grassroots level

Srinagar, April 26: With the organisational election process underway across Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party on Sunday elected zonal- and block-level office bearers in the Pahalgam and Bijbehara Assembly constituencies. The polls were held under the supervision of the party’s Chief Coordinator, Returning Officer, and District President of Kulgam Abdul Majeed Padder. Ahead of the polling a crucial meeting was held in which the party leaders discussed a range of party matters. Veteran party leaders including General Secretary, Rafi Ahmad Mir, and Additional General Secretary, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, District President Anantnag Mufti Sarwar, and Party’ Shangus Constituency incharge and senior KP leader, M K Yogi were also present on the occasion.

According to a press release issued here, For Pahalgam and Bijbehara constituencies, the organisational elections were held in which zonal and block presidents were elected through a smooth and transparent poll process.

Addressing the gathering, Rafi Ahmad Mir said, “Apni Party is currently undergoing a process aimed at strengthening its grassroots cadre and electing office bearers who are committed to remaining active, working to bolster the party, and serving the people.”He urged party workers and leaders to remain active and build close bonds with the masses in their respective areas.

Hilal Ahmad Shah addressed in which he urged party leaders and workers to enhance their political and public engagement in order to stay aware of the issues, problems, and grievances faced by people in their respective areas. He said, “It is our responsibility to remain aware of public issues and grievances so that we can highlight them and ensure their timely redressal.” Mohammad Ashraf Mir also addressed the occasion.

In Phalgam constituency, six block presidents were elected. These include Abdul Waheed Wani, Mohammad Lateef Shah for Kellar, Aijaz Ahmad for Khowripora, Manzoor Ahmad for Bathkote, Aijaz Ahmad Shah for Ashmuqam, and Nazir Ahmad Lone for Doshnipora.

In Bijbehara, Murtaza Rashid Dar was elected as Block President Bijbehara, Sheikh Mohammad Ilyas as Block President Srigafara, Showkat Hussain Salroo elected as Town President Bijbehara, Neelofar Rashid elected as Women’s President.
