Noor Mohammad urges DC Srinagar to extend all possible help to fire victims

SRINAGAR, October 1:

Apni Party district president Srinagar and former
legislator Noor Mohammad Sheikh on Thursday expressed deep shock and
grief over a fire incident at Haft Chinar Aalochi Bagh Srinagar in
which several residential houses were gutted.

In a statement issued here, Sheikh demanded immediate rehabilitation
of the fire affected families and urged the district administration to
depute a revenue team to the spot in order to assess the losses at the
earliest.

“The district administration should immediately disburse ex-gratia
relief to the fire victim families. The district administration should
also ensure proper rehabilitation of the fire victims, besides paying
them adequate compensation,” he added.

The Apni Party district president also appealed to people especially
living in the congested areas in the Srinagar city to take extra
precautions in order to thwart such mishaps in future. “Such tragic
incidents at times prove fatal for precious human lives besides
causing irreparable damages to the properties,” he said.

Sheikh also stressed on the need among people to be cautious with
regard to electric circuits in homes which have been seen mainly
responsible for fire incidents across especially in congested areas of
the city. He also expressed solidarity with the fire affected families
and assured them of every possible help.
