JAMMU, JULY 22, 2023: – Apni Party today staged a protest demonstration over atrocities and rise of sexual abuses against women in Manipur, and Rajasthan demanding resignation of respective Chief Ministers.

To express their anguish against atrocities against women in both these states, the Apni Party leaders held a protest at Gandhi Nagar under the leadership of Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Pavneet Kour.

The protesting Apni Party leaders were shouting slogans against the Manipur and Rajasthan Govts for their failure to curb increasing crime against the women, and incidents of rape.

“The Govt in Manipur have completely failed to control violence for the last over two months, and the brutality against the women which recently came to fore in the shape of a video on social media has exposed the false claims of the Govt,” said Pavneet Kour.

She said that the Govt has completely lost its control over law and order situation and taking moral responsibility, the Chief Minister of Manipur should immediately step down by resigning from the position.

“The democratically elected Govt in Manipur should take its full responsibility and resign so that the Governor Rule can be imposed, and armed forces can get proper power to control the violence that has spread all over the Manipur’s cities, and hilly areas,” she said.

She said that “The violent mob have been involved in atrocities against women, men and the children equally, and they are sparing no one. The State Govt’s machinery is not working that makes the elected Govt powerless.”

Meanwhile, she also referred to several incidents against women in Rajasthan and demanded that the Chief Minister of Rajasthan should also resign from the position taking moral responsibility for what is happening in his state.

She said that “It was unfortunate to note the insensitive approach of the Rajasthan Govt as it compelled its own minister to resign from the Govt after he raised the issue of growing abuse against the women in Rajasthan.”

“The minister had raised the issue on the floor of Rajasthan Assembly but the Govt did not act against the abusers but forced its own minister to resign from the position that discloses how the Govts have become insensitive towards the insecurity of women in Rajasthan,” she added.

Prominent among those who were present in the protest include Provincial Senior Vice President Faqir Nath, Additional General Secretary, Arun Chibber, State President SC Wing, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Apni Trade Union State President, Ajaz Kazmi, Vice President J&K Youth Wing / Spokesperson Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Provincial President Jammu Youth Wing, Vipul Bali, District Vice President Jammu Urban, Vaibhav Mattoo, District President Trade Wing, Shivam Choudhary, Provincial Secretary Apni Trade Union, Sheikh Latief, District President District Jammu Women Wing, Ritu Pandita, Shikha Bhardwaj, Shakti Dutta, Shivani Koul, Tanu, many other women and youth.
