Jammu, November 4:
On the night of 02 Nov 2018 at around 10 PM approximately 80 trucks got stuck near km 48 due to heavy snowfall in Poonch district on Mughal Road. A desperate call for help was received by troops of Indian Army deployed at KM 28 who immediately sprung into action and reached the area and commenced the rescue operations with the aid of Traffic Police and Border Road Organisation personnel from Surankote.
The rescue operation was conducted under the hours of darkness and harsh weather conditions. All stranded persons were safely evacuated to Surankote. Army provided medical aid to the injured and comforts in terms of blankets and food to stranded persons.
