The Army on Friday revealed that they have recovered multiple weapons belonging to the Pakistani Army from the Amarnath route.

The Army on Friday said that an M-24 sniper rifle, IEDs and landmines belonging to the Pakistani Army along with a telescope were recovered from a terror cache along the Amarnath route.
The Army has said that it appears Pakistani Army is trying to disrupt the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in the state.
Chinar Corps Commander Lt General KJS Dhillon addressed a press conference in Srinagar and said, “A Pakistan Army landmine has also been recovered from one of the caches of terrorists.”
The Army then assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that no one will be allowed to disrupt peace in the state.

Lt General KJS Dhillon and J&K Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh addressed the joint press conference saying Pakistan is trying to disrupt peace in Kashmir.
IG CRPF Zulfiqar Hasan said, “Amarnath Yatra has seen unprecedented turnout and inspite of many threats it has been peaceful, there have been serious attempts to disrupt the yatra but it has been unsuccessful due to the hard work of security personnel, use of technology and cooperation of people.”
The Army also displayed Pakistani weapons recovered from the Amarnath Yatra route, providing proof of Pakistan’s terror plot.
“Situation on the Line of Control is under control and very much peaceful. Infiltration bids from Pakistan side are being successfully thwarted,” Lt General KJS Dhillon said.
“Type of IEDs we are examining and the IED expert terrorists we are capturing and eliminating point to the fact that Pakistan is trying to disrupt peace in Kashmir. We assure the awaam of Kashmir that no one will be allowed to disrupt peace,” he said.
These recoveries were made along the Amarnath Yatra route during operations launched in response to intelligence that Pakistani terrorists were planning to target the annual pilgrimage.

“An M-24 American sniper rifle with a telescope was also recovered from a terror cache along Shri Amarnath ji route,” he added.
Meanwhile, J&K DGP Dilbag Singh said the overall number of active militants in the Valley and in Jammu region has come down.
“We had done an in-depth analysis of terrorism in Kashmir. 83 per cent of local people who pick up weapons had record of stone pelting. I request all mothers, if today your child throws stones at security forces for Rs 500 then he’ll become terrorist tomorrow,” KJS Dhillon said.
