Jammu, August 24: The Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital on Thursday became the first institution in the Union Territory of J&K to have become True 5 G institute.

As the fast roll-out of True 5G services continues across Jammu, Reliance Jio has commenced Jio True 5G transformative journey in major educational campuses, harnessing the immense transformative potential of True 5G in the field of education and Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital became the first Educational Institution in the Jammu region of UT of J&K with True 5G Service by organizing an Event.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by the D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS, Manik Batra, Trustee, ASCOMS, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS and Shri Aashutosh Bajaj, State Business Head, Reliance JioInfocomm, Jammu. The launch was very well received by the students, faculty members and staff of the College. As part of this event, YOUTH PASS Program was launched wherein students get access to exclusive offers. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Paediatrics, and Vice Chairman, Sports & Cultural Activities, ASCOMS, Dr. RabinderRattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS, Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan, DGM (Hosp. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal in his address said that he is happy to be part of the launching of True 5G Services and thanks from the core of his heart to Reliance Jio for selecting Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital as the first Educational Institute in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir for launching of 5G Service. He said that the emerging 5G network features lower latency, higher capacity and increased band-width as compared to 4G. Dr. Malhotra further elaborated the salient features of 5G services which have now been launched. He informed the august gathering that Reliance Jio has decided to showcase its true5G services to the students and teachers at ASCOMS from today, thereby signaling a significant stride in transforming education through true 5G . He said that he is very hopeful that Jio True 5G enables enhanced learning experiences for students and empowers the faculty to deliver their best. He congratulated Reliance Jio Team for making commitment to digitalize the educational campuses pan India to reaffirm its dedication to bolstering education and shaping a brighter future for the next generation. He concluded his address with a quote of Daniel Bell who once said, “Technology, like art, is a soaring exercise of human imagination” which to him means that human mind is the supreme as it is the human mind which creates technology.
Commencing this initiative, Ashutosh Bajaj, State Business Head showcased its True 5G services through a presentation to the students and teachers, signaling a significant stride in transforming education through True 5G. Keeping in view the high data requirements and usage of medical students in campus, Jio has put special focus on ensuring seamless 5G connectivity and the best 5G experience for users. Reliance Jio has deployed multiple 5G network sites at major centre of education.
In an interactive session with students at ASCOMS, Jio Jammu team presented multi-faceted benefits and potential of True 5G and elaborated on the transformational possibilities of True 5G with emphasis on the immense scope to revolutionize digital learning, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Various use cases of 5G in the field of Medicine were showcased to the students through video presentations outlining the infinite growth opportunities in the areas of e-governance, education, automation, Artificial Intelligence, gaming, agriculture, IT, and SMEs and more precisely in the field of healthcare.
