Timely vaccination can bring economy back on track: ASSOCHAM

ASSOCHAM- One of the oldest apex body of the country today appreciated the announcements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Address to Nation on Monday.

ASSOCHAM feels that centralizing vaccination drive will speed up the process, which will help in bringing back economy back on track.

All state chairs and members of ASSOCHAM Northern Region have unanimously applauded the steps taken by the Prime Minister.

“Vaccination is the only weapon to fight this pandemic which has drastically hampered the economic activities of the country. I am sure PM’s vision to centralize vaccination drive will accelerate the process and it will also bring back the economy on track,” said Amrit Sagar Mittal, Chairman, ASSOCHAM, Northern Regional Development Council.

“Announcing free ration to 800 million people is also a welcoming step,” he added.

PM Modi on Monday has emphasized on Free Vaccines and announced that government will provide free COVID vaccines from June 21 to citizens over 18 yrs. of age.

“The centres decision to procure 75 percent of the vaccines including 25 percent of the states share will make entire vaccination procurement and distribution process more effective. Remaining 25 percent which can be procured by private hospital will boost the vaccination drive.” Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Development Council.

Prime minister in his address to nation has also announced free ration to 800 million people till Diwali, in which the beneficiaries will get an additional 5kg of wheat or rice per person free during July and November 2021 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY),

“It is good to know that in this time of pandemic, the government is standing with the poor in their every need as their partner,” said Mr. Jitender Sodhi, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Himachal Pradesh State Development Council.

“I highly appreciate these measures and steps being taken by Government to boost vaccination drive, as this will surely work to cope up the COVID 19 from India at earliest,” he added.
