Bandipora, March 13: In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the Bandipora police, working alongside the Special Operations Group (SOG) Hajan, 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and 45 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), apprehended two suspected terrorist associates during a checkpoint operation at Gundbal Hajan in the Bandipora district.

The individuals detained have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Parry, son of Mohammad Ramzan, a 27-year-old laborer residing in Bon Mohalla Hajan and Naseer Ahmad Parry, son of Bashir Ahmad Parry, aged approximately 27-28 years, a street vendor from Kathpora Hajan.

During a meticulous search, security forces recovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition from the possession of the apprehended individuals, including: One AK-47 magazine, One pistol, Two hand grenades and Eighteen rounds of ammunition.

A formal case has been registered under First Information Report (FIR) No. 20/25, under Section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act, at Police Station Hajan. Comprehensive investigations are now underway to determine the motives, potential affiliations, and intended use of the recovered weaponry.

It has been disclosed that Mudasir Ahmad Parry was previously detained by Hajan Police on March 11, 2025, for questioning. Additionally, Naseer Ahmad Parry is the nephew of Assadullah Parry, a Hurriyat leader from Syed Mohalla Hajan. Assadullah Parry is currently detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) vide DMB No. 25/17, dated September 11, 2024, and is lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu.
