Bandipora Police continuing its drive against social menaces today arrested a bootlegger near Wullar Vantage Park Garoora Aragam in jurisdiction of PS Aragam and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding movement of drug peddlers near Wular Vantage Park Garoora , a naka was placed by a police party of PS Aragam led by SHO P/S Argam Insp.Showkat Ahmad under the supervision of DySP PC Bandipora Shri Zafar Mehdi-JKPS.During checking suspicious movement of one person was noticed and during search of his bag 07 bottles of Illicit Liquor were recovered and he was also arrested.
The accused disclosed his identity Ashiq Hussain Bhat R/o Arin Bandipora.
During Preliminary enquiry, it came to surface that the illicit liquor was meant for sale in the area .
In this connection Case FIR No. 45/2022 under relevant sections of Excise act has been registered in Police station Aragam and further investigation taken up.
