Jammu, March 09:

Jammu BAR association today served an ultimatum to the PDP-BJP coalition government to revoke the controversial order issued in Tribal Affairs Meeting headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti till March 15, 2018, otherwise get ready for another agitation.

The BAJ president Advocate BS Slathia while talking to media today said that an ultimatum of March 15 has been served to the state government and also added that otherwise the civil society of Jammu including social, business associations and BAR association will launch an agitation against such directions or order.

“We don’t want such decisions from state government, which is not only hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu, but also raised a question mark on the Gujjars and Bakarwals communiies, which are die-hard seculars and always remain nationalists,” said Slathia and added that by issuing such biased instructions, this government is directly targeting Tribals as land encroachers, whereas realtity is something else and encroachers are having no religion, caste or creed.

Supporting Tribals, the BAR president said that government is trying to create communal tensions among communities, where as Gujjara and Bakarwals supported 2008 Amarnath Land Row agitation and remained secular.

“Why govt has given such impression that tribals are the encroachers, this is really a wrong statement or order or direction, which is mentioned in the minutes of meetings,” added Advocate Slathia added.
