Mahalla (Doda), May 23: Continuing its programme of involving students, Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office (JKBO) of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) today held standard writing competition at Government higher secondary school Mahalla in Doda district.

A total of 21 students participated in the competition and first four winners were provided cash prizes. All the participants of the competition were given certificates on behalf of BIS.

The programme was organised by BIS mentor Muhammad Ayoub Mir and BIS Resource Support Team (RST) member Raja Amir Karim Tantray delivered orientation lecture and supervised the competition.

He informed students about ISI marking and hallmarking of gold and how to verify the quality of any product through the BIS Care App.

BIS had earlier established the standard club in the GHSS Mahalla and these students are members of the club. They were all praise for BIS for organising such a competition in their school and hoped that in future also BIS will continue to organise similar programmes.

The programme was organised on the directions of Director BIS Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office (JKBO) Tilak Raj and BIS officer Ashish Dwivedi supervised it.
