Ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) national and state leadership today met with state office bearers at Jammu and discussed the present situation in Kashmir valley and took stock of the ongoing programmes in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP national vice-president and J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna, national general secretary Ram Madhav, State president and MLA Sat Sharma and Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, addressed the day long meeting of State Office Bearers, Morcha Presidents and District Prabharis at Jammu on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed the present situation in the state besides taking stock of the ongoing programmes of the party at different levels as also the working of BJP coalition government in the state.

Ram Madhav said that the coalition government in the state was formed to honour the mandate of the people despite ideological differences and it is indeed a matter of satisfaction that both the parties are working in unison to fulfil the promises made to the people. He said that it is a development-centric government and its priorities are good governance and corruption free administration. He asked the party leaders to work for strengthening the nationalist forces in the state so that the elements working against the integrity of the country are defeated.

Avinash Rai Khanna, while speaking in the meeting, appreciated the efforts of BJP activist in Jammu and Kashmir for actively undertaking party programmes at different levels and serve as bridge between the party and the people. He said that social service is the best mean to get associated with the public. He said that the party activists have to devote more time in reaching the masses and educate them about the projects like Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bacho Beti Padao, Namami Ganga and make it a public movement.
