The death toll of the soldiers lost in Machil sector in Kupwara has risen to three in the past three days as one BSF trooper was also killed on Saturday morning .
According to army sources, the BSF trooper fell to the bullets fired from across the Line of Control ( LoC) in Machil sector. This gunfight has been termed as an “ encounter” by the Indian army, which increasingly looks like a direct encounter between Indian and Pakistani troops .
This “encounter” by its dimension and scale suggests that it is far bigger gun battle than it has given out to be .
The worst part of the encounter is that the adversary beheaded one of the Indian soldiers Manjeet Singh. It is not clear whether the terrorists did it , or the Pakistani regulars executed this act of “barbarism” .
The army would have to come clear on its statement which it issued late Friday night, which read : “In an encounter close to the Line of Control in Machhal Sector, in the evening of 28th Oct 16, one soldier has been martyred and one terrorist killed”.
In a despicable act, the terrorist mutilated the body of the Indian Army Soldier before fleeing into POK, supported by covering fire from Pak Army posts. This barbarism is a true reflection, which pervades official and non-official organisations across the border. “This act will invite an appropriate response,” Indian army said.
