Jammu, March 22: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Forest Guard, J&K Forest Department, Billawar Zonal Office, District Kathua, UT of J&K, for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs Rs.35,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered by CBI on 20.03.2025 against said accused on the allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 35000/- from the complainant for allowing the complainant for smooth execution of contract work i.e. construction / repair of road and release of key of JCB Machine forcibly taken by accused.
CBI laid a trap and caught accused Forest Guard, red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.35,000/- from the complainant. Later, accused has been arrested. The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu on 21.03.2025 and the Ld. Court remanded the accused to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
CBI also conducted search at residential of accused in Tehsil-Bilawar, District Kathua which led to recovery of some incriminating documents.
Investigation is continuing.
