Chandigarh Police apprehended three persons, namely: Lovepreet Singh (19 years old), Jashanpreet Singh alias Jashandeep (21 years old), and Prabhpreet Singh alias Prabh (19 years old) on the basis of specific intelligence regarding the movement of suspected operatives associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in Chandigarh. During the operation, approximately 5 kg of gelatin stick explosives, one detonator, power source, and remotely operated system, one pistol, one magazine, and five live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused persons were allegedly acting on the directions of Satnam alias Satta Naushera, a foreign-based BKI handler. They had planned to plant an IED in Chandigarh with the intention of creating terror.
