Jammu, March 17 ( JKNT) : Residents of Chushul in eastern Ladakh bordering China regret that their contribution in maintaining frontline defences in the region has gone unrecognized .
Konchan Stanzin , Councilor of Chushul , the hotbed of the current standoff between India and China since April-May 2020 , in a twitter post has regretted that the huge contribution of the local people has not been mentioned in any of the books that how they moved shoulder to shoulder with the army in all the wars fought in their region , whether in 1947, 1962 and 2020. But, he regretted that their contribution was never mentioned in books .
He wrote in the tweet , “ Local stand by the Army in the defence of our motherland. Whether in 1947,1962 or 2020 clashed but always failed to mention their contribution, you won’t get a local contribution in any books, Local had carried the bodies of martyred soldiers on yak from Sirijab & Re-Zangla.”

This is the depiction of the landscape of eastern Ladakh , which is currently scene of n nearly three year standoff between Indian and Chinese armies .
This also reflects the inner anger among the people about the way their contribution in the defence of the country is put aside by the authors.
