Winding up the tour of five assembly constituencies of Kathua district with State President Ravinder Raina , Former MLAs Dr. Nirmal Singh , Rajeev Jasrotia, Kuldeep Kumar, Jeevan Lal and Chairman DDC Kathua Col (Retd) Mahan Singh today, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal Former Minister and General Secretary BJP J&K said that the belief in Modi and BJP in the common masses in these areas where the party had won all the 5 seats has touched new heights.
During their 4 days whirlwind tour of these constituencies by BJP leaders, especially Bani Billawar and Basohli the response of the people was thunderous. A new era has begun in this far flung area with huge network of roads and bridges which the people were demanding for the last 50 years. The roads under various central and state schemes already stand completed and few are under progress. The locals said that this is the first time in their life that in such a short span of period (5-6 Years) they have seen huge development projects which were started and completed in a record time. The BRO road from Basohli to Bani is live example of this progress, they said.
Dr. Manyal said that there were only empty promises and fake slogans in the previous regimes and no development was seen in the last 70 years. At Bani, huge network of 15 PMGSY roads in the area has provided almost 100% connectivity to the far flung areas. He said that Dr. Jitendra Singh Hon’ble MOS has taken up a project of a tunnel between Bani and Bhaderwah which will hopefully be sanctioned this year.
The locals have put up a demand for a road between Billawar and Bani to be constructed by BRO which will provide a link between two assembly segments.
Demand for a new degree college for Macchedi was also put up by the youth which BJP President Ravinder Raina ji said will be taken up with the department. The gathering thanked the president and other leaders for their visit to this far flung area and said that this is the first time that a party president of any party has visited this area for 5-7 times in 3 years .
Later at Basohli, the leaders were welcomed with dhol and music. People stressed that the policies and programmes of Modi ji have given benefit to all sections of society,
Free ration, free Vaccination, Pension to old age people, Widows, and specially abled has made this section self dependent. Ayushman Bharat scheme has benefited a no. of people. People thanked PM Modi and BJP. The party workers met the leaders separately and a detailed discussion was held regarding strengthening the organisational structure of party.
At Billawar , a huge no. of people had gathered and wanted to meet the leaders but following COVID SOPs they were not allowed and a small group met the leaders and their demands were noted . The people thanked the party for new degree college, and some new institutions, number of new roads etc.
Later workers were addressed by the president and were asked to work for strengthening the party at grass root level. The president asked the workers to work at Booth level and strengthen the Mandal and Booth.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, Col. Mahan Singh and Distt President Jeevan lal also addressed the workers .
All the DDCs, BDCs, MC Presidents were present in the meetings in all the assembly constituencies.
