Jammu, March 22: JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra announced on Saturday that the party will resume restore statehood campaign to J&K as the Centre appears to be sleeping over the matter.
Congress has assumed frontline role in calling for the return of the statehood for J&K even when National Conference has gone on mute mode. NC had promised that it will take up the issue and get the statehood restored at the earliest. Despite cabinet having passed a resolution and forwarded to the Centre for restoration of status of statehood for J&K, Delhi has not responded in any manner till date. Five months have passed since.
Karra said the campaign for restoration of statehood will resume from Monday- March 24.
He also asked Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to honour their own promise of returning statehood to J&K.
