A traffic cop was run over by a truck at Qazigund in the early hours of Thursday, police said.
The traffic police ASI was hit at 3 a m . The driver fled the spot.
The traffic cop has been identified as Mohammad Shafi Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat of Shangus of Anantnag district.
The police have launched searches for the absconding driver
