Jammu, April 19: Cyber Police Jammu today succeeded in apprehending one hard core Cyber Criminal involved in capturing obscene photographs of a girl and making them viral on social media.

Giving details, Mamta Sharma, SP South Jammu, who is also incharge Cyber Police Station said that based a complaint of one victim girl regarding capturing of her obscene photographs and making them viral on social media.

The girl had alleged that Sanjay Kumar alias Kala S/o Ram Krishan R/o Kalyar, Mathwar, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu in connivance with some more co-accused people have done this crime.

In this regard a Case was registered at Cyber Police Station Jammu for detailed investigation of the case to ensure justice to the victim girl and her family, who got deeply harassed and depressed due to such heinous criminal act of the accused after luring her, resulting maligning of the image of victim girl and her family in the society.

Police said that accordingly, based on a specific input developed after utilizing human and technical intelligence, a Police team of Cyber Police Station Jammu under the supervision of Dy.SP Cyber Anubhuti and led by the Investigating Officer Inspector Rakesh Kumar Sharma, assisted by SI Muhammad Shabir, conducted raid in Durga Nagar area of Police Post Chinore with the assistance of I/C PP Chinore. “During the raid the accused person was arrested. The mobile phone of the accused was seized for further analysis,” police said.

Further investigation of the case is going on.

Police is working on the involvement of the other accused persons of the area in making those obscene photographs viral.

SP retreated that whosoever found involved in such heinous crime against women, would be dealt with strictly under law. She advised the public especially younger generation to utilize internet services/social medial with utmost care and responsibility, keep their social media accounts secure and private and do not get involved in extra adventurism on social media, which may lead to disastrous results.

“Never share your personal stuff including photographs, live/recorded videos, bank details, OTPs, Identity proofs with any unknown person on social media. Also never act on fake messages/calls regarding Pending Electricity Bill, Mobile bill verification and other lucrative offers like online lottery, online gaming level upgradations, online viewership/followers increment of Social Media accounts/FB/Youtube pages, online unknown foreigners’ friendship requests etc. as the same may result to loss of your hard-earned money as well as reputation,” she added.
