Shopian, September, 30: The Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today visited Allowpora Shopian where he inspected the ongoing work on transit accommodation for migrant employees.

The construction of flats at Allowpora is a part of a comprehensive plan to provide housing for employees working under the Prime Minister’s Employment Package.

The project is being built at an estimated cost of Rs.80 crore entailing construction of flats in total.

The Deputy Commissioner was apprised that 224 flats have been completed till date while 208 flats are being constructed and work on these flats is going on speedily. The competed ones are ready to be handed over to the administration for allotment among the employees.

The Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned executing agency, R&B to speed up the work so that the construction on remaining flats shall be completed within the stipulated time frame.
