Urges Civil Society and Youth to promote anti-drug, swachhta campaigns

District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan, on his two day tour to Sub District Bhaderwah held public interactions and met scores of delegations and listened to their grievances.
Prominent among the delegations included the District Development Council Member, BDC Chairperson, Representatives of Political parties, Senior Citizen Council Bhaderwah, Sarpanches, NGOs, besides Self Help Groups and Youth.


The delegations raised demands pertaining to health, education & tourism facilities, strengthening of road network & power infrastructure, filling of vacant posts in different departments, especially in health and educational institutions, rationalization of schools, implementation of JJM projects, promotion of Entrepreneurship and tourism activities in the area, payment of pending land compensation, sanction for execution of MGNREGA Plan, fast tracking Geo-tagging of soakage pits, functioning of ANM school, Blacktopping of Jai Bhaderwah road, strict action against drug peddlers, besides other several grievances were raised to which the DDC gave a patient hearing.


Speaking to the deputations, the DDC assured them that all their grievances, within the ambit of District Administration, would be resolved on priority and the rest requiring intervention at UT level would be sent to higher authorities. Besides, many grievances were resolved by the DDC on the spot by giving necessary instructions to the concerned departments.


The DDC also briefed the participants about the top priorities of the District administration including promotion of Nasha Mukht Bharat, Swachh Bharat Mission and Special Summary Revision-2022. He also briefed the participants about varied measures in pipeline to promote tourism, Agro industry , Education sector and Youth engagement initiatives.


The DDC urged the stakeholders, especially the young generation to come forward and contribute and support the campaign against Drug abuse to free the area form this menace. He further urged them to actively promote the Swachh Bharat mission campaign in all corners of Bhadarwah and to become the ambassador of this clean India green India mission in their respective areas.


Referring to the ongoing Special Summary Revision started from September 15, the DDC asked all the participants having affiliation with different political parties to ensure that all the voters who have attained the age of 18 years on 1st October 2022 shall be registered without as electorates, The representatives of political parties were asked to appoint Booth Level Agents to facilitate the ongoing exercise of Special Summary Revision and contact the concerned EROs, AEROs, BLOs for any kind of grievance redressal.


Further, the DDC urged all the young participants to avail the maximum benefits of self employment and Agro-allied sector schemes to establish their start ups. The members of SHGs were asked to promote their products by establishing better market linkages. The district heads were asked to purchase the products of SHGs which can be used in their offices as a gesture of encouragement.


The DDC, while responding to the issue of geotagging of soakage pits across the Bhaderwah, directed the BDO to complete the exercise by Sept 23. He assured the PRIs that soon after the completion of the process Panchayats would be given approval to achieve the set targets. The Chief Education Officer was asked to submit the proposal for rationalization of schools by Monday for its revision before taking next course of action.


Regarding promotion of tourism activities, the DDC asked the stakeholders to coordinate with the private players to tap the huge tourism potential of the area. He assured them that the District Administration was working on many initiatives which would be soon implemented on the to harness the tourism potential of the area to its full.
Later, the DDC visited the Seri Bazar Park and took stock of the progress and also sought details of work plan being executed to make the park a major tourist attraction and directed the Ex- En PWD to submit a blueprint within two days for the changes to be done for its beautification and proper use.


Among those present in the meeting were SSP, Abdul Qayoom; CEO BDA Navdeep Wazir; ASP Bhaderwah, SE Hydraulics, ACD Doda, Dy Director Employment, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, Ex Ens, CHO, CAO, CAHO Doda,District Sheep Husbandry Officer Doda, Area Marketing Officer, AD Fisheries, DSWO Doda, Assistant Floriculture officer Doda, besides other district and sectoral heads were also present in the meeting.
