A devastating blaze raced through residential colony in Sopore gutting several houses , leaving nearly a dozen families homeless.
The fire started in Maharajpora, a congested locality in Sopore, and within minutes it engulfed several houses damaging everything .
The fire tenders extinguished flames , but there were ashes and slush all around.
The cause of the origin of fire is not known immediately.
SDPO Raja Majid, SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal took stock of damaged structures in the area and assured affected families for providing all possible help as immediate relief.
The families of Bilal Ahmad Malla son of Wali Mohammad Malla, Javaid Ahmad Malla,Gh Nabi Malla son of Gh Mohammad Malla, Mohammad Yousuf Malla son of Ali Mohammad Malla,Nazir Ahmad Malla Gh Mohammad Malla,Mohd Sahban Malla son of Gh Mohammad Malla, all residents of Maharajpora. were affected..
