Make efforts for providing low cost housing to Police personnel; Various proposals approved

Jammu, January 24 : The 48th meeting of Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation Ltd. (JKPHCL) was held at Police headquarters here today. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh alongwith Shri R.K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary (FC), Home Department, Co-Chairman of board of directors of JKPHC.

Director Police Housing Corporation, Shri Deepak Kumar, ADGP Jammu Zone, Shri Mukesh Singh, ADGP Headquarters PHQ Shri M. K. Sinha, DIG Admin PHQ, Ms Sarah Rizvi, Shri S.L Pandita DG (Codes), Finance Department, Er. P.C Tamoch DC works, Shri Sachen Verma FA/CAO PHQ, Shri Amarjeet Singh CA JKPHC, Shri Ashish Gupta Add. Secretary (Law) attended the meeting at PHQ. ADGP Kashmir Zone Shri Vijay Kumar, Iftikhar Ahmad Hakeem Chief Town Planning Jammu, S. Bilal Ahmad, DG Planning, Rafiq A Rafiq, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Dr. Kauser DD Department of Health attended the meeting through video conferencing .

In his welcome address the Managing Director of the Housing Corporation Shri Deepak Kumar presented a report with regard to the functioning of the Police Housing Corporation. He while presenting the agenda for the meeting said that the e-tendering process is in place from last three years. He also presented various proposals on the occasion.

In his address the DGP directed for conducting regular meetings of board members adding that it would enable them to know the functioning of the corporation more closely. He directed for following the procedures as envisaged for the corporation. He said that board has the responsibility to ensure that all the works of the corporation are being conducted efficiently. He directed for timely completion of work in hand while taking into account all the technical evaluations.

During the discussion on various agenda points the DGP impressed upon the corporation to make efforts for providing low cost housing to the Police personnel for which he directed ADGP Jammu and ADGP Kashmir to identify the suitable land for the projects. He said that while taking up such projects the Housing Policy of the UT should also be kept in mind. After threadbare discussion various agenda points were approved at the conclusion of the meeting.

Shri R.K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary (FC), J&K Home Department, Co-Chairman of Board of Directors of JKPHC gave valuable suggestions to improve the working of the corporation.

While presenting the vote of thanks, the Managing Director, JKPHC assured the DGP and the directors that the corporation will take each and every step to make the corporation more competitive and develop it as a top corporation of the UT.
