Director General police Dilbag Singh paid floral tributes to two policemen who were killed in a firing incident triggered by terrorists in Sopore on Saturday.


He praised the brave hearts and pledged that the perpetrators involved in the attack would be brought to book . He claimed that Lashkar- Toiba group was involved in the attack that left two policemen and three civilians dead.


The DGP has condemned the Sopore attack as a dastardly act by terrorists and said that the operation to trace them is on . “ We have identified the terrorists and we will soon get them”.
He denied that militancy graph was on rise, and told media, “ if you look at the overall picture militancy is showing a downward trend.”
“ But our ( police) job is such that we have to face such situations.”
