Also sanctioned Rs. 30 lakh for NoKs of deceased SPOs

Ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh in favour of NoKs of martyr CRPF Jawan

Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the police personnel who attained martyrdom while fighting terrorism and personnel who have passed away due to any illness while in service, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 2.20 crore as Special Welfare Relief.

The special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased personnel Sub Inspector Amar Singh, Sub Inspector Bashir Ahmad, HC Nishat Ahmad, HC Vinod Kumar, SgCt.(Dvr) Gulzar Ahmad, Sgct. Madan Gopal, Constable Hilal Ahmad, Constable Ramesh Lal and Ajay Kumar, Follower Ravi Kumar and Follower Ali Mohammad.

Out of this amount, rupees one lakh each was already paid to the families/NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund.

DGP has also sanctioned rupees 30 lakh in favour of NoKs of six deceased SPOs. Five lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of families/ legal heirs of deceased SPOs Kewal Krishan, Abdul Hamid, Chain Singh, Mohammad Ganie, Babi Kumar and Lakhmi Chand who expired due to illness while engaged with the department. Out of this amount, rupees 50 thousand, each was already paid to the families/NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.

DGP has also sanctioned Rupees five lakh as ex-gratia relief in favour of NoKs of martyr ASI/GD Naresh Umrao Badole of 117 Bn CRPF, who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack.

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
