13 District Dialysis Centres made operational across the State so far

District Dialysis Centre at Raja Sukdev Singh District Hospital Poonch was inaugurated by Rahul Yadav District Development Commissioner Poonch in presence of Dr Mumtaz Bhatti CMO Poonch, Dr Shamim Bhatti, MS Poonch and prominent citizens of the town.
Speaking on the occasion District Development Commissioner highlighted the facility for poor patients of the remote district and appealed to the public present in the function to disseminate the information about this facility. He expressed gratitude to Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, Mission Director, NHM, J&K for their unflinching support to provide specialized services to the border district of the state. Three patients availed the dialysis services on the day of inauguration at DH Poonch.
The cost of each Dialysis session for APL patients has been fixed at 950 per session; however it will be free for BPL patients, cost of which shall be reimbursed by NHM, J&K.
It is pertinent to mention that the State Govt has made 13 such dialysis centres operational in the State the state at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, DH Doda, DH Kathua, DH Poonch, DH Rajouri & DH Udhampur in Jammu Division; and DH Anantnag, DH Baramulla, DH Pulwama, DH Kulgam, & JLNM Hospital Srinagar in Kashmir Division; DH Kargil and DH Leh in Ladakh Division. The work on remaining two dialysis centres at DH Kishtwar and DH Kupwara is going on in full swing and are expected to be operational by ending July 2019. The facility has been widely appreciated and has gained acceptance amongst the patients and their families who earlier had to travel long distances frequently to access dialysis services. This resulted not only in the travel cost but also loss of wages for them.
In the financial year 2018-19, 8329 dialysis sessions were conducted on 203 patients in these centres and in the current financial year up to May 2019, 2375 dialysis sessions have been conducted and this service has been availed by 224 patients at their doorsteps.
