Dilbag Singh will continue as interim DGP of Jammu and Kashmir till the State Government appoints a regular police chief in the next few weeks .
It is certain that the State government is clearly inclined to confirm Dilbag Singh as the State police chief who was appointed as an interim police chief on the night of September 6 and 7 , sources said.
Although the State government has submitted five names R Doley, Naveen Aggarwal, V K Singh, S M Sahai and Dilbag Singh to the Union Public Service Commission for consideration , yet it is amply clear that the State administration headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik , has thrown its weight behind Dilbag Singh .
Meanwhile the state has been asked by the Supreme Court to finalise the name of the new DGP by second week of November .
