Jammu, September 22: The Indian government is learnt to have invited a number of diplomats of influential countries , including the US and Singapore, to see for themselves the voting patterns in Kashmir, in a bid to showcase the transformation that has taken place in the Valley since abrogation of Article 370.
Sources said that the diplomats would be escorted to various polling stations in the Central Kashmir on September 25 . Three districts of Ganderbal, Srinagar and Budgam accounting for 15 seats will be going to polls in the second phase of polling of the ongoing Assembly elections.
This invite has been extended against the backdrop of high voter turnout out in the first phase of polling in South Kashmir on September 18.
This is to showcase the historic tryst of the people of Kashmir with democracy.
