Vishesh Mahajan Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department visited Pulwama district, today, where he inspected ongoing development works of the department in different Fruit and Vegetable Markets.
During his today’s tour to different Mandies, the Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing was accompanied by M A Mir Deputy Director Kashmir, Asgar Watali Executive Engineer and other officials of the department.
A warm welcome was given to the Director at Fruit and Vegetables Market Pulwama by members of Fruit Association Pulwama; Wherein a number of issues, pertaining to strengthen up agricultural marketing activities in the district, were discussed. Assuring to meet most of the demands raised by the Fruit Association Pulwama in near future, viz , allotment of Shopsites in the Mandie, Macdamisation of the approach road and establishment of a Cold store, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing exhorted them to work for providing a very smooth and farmers’ friendly agricultural marketing platform in the Mandie.
Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing also visited Fruit & Vegetable Market Pachhar and reviewed the developmental works being undertaken by Engineering Wing of the department.
Issues with regards to development of Phars, electrification in the mandi and lavatory points in the mandi were discussed in a meeting held with the Fruit Association Pachhar. On spot instructions were given to the Engineering Wing to ensure completion of all ongoing works within the deadlines.
The Director also visited the spot for upcoming Fruit and Vegetable Market at Tral where he had a telephonic discussion with the District Development Commissioner Pulwama on related issues.
Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing also visited Goripora where efforts to establish Farmers’ Direct Market are initiated by the department.
Earlier, Vishesh Mahajan had paid visit to Fruit and Vegetables Market Charar-e-Sharief and spots for upcoming Fruit and Vegetables Market Krimshora & Farmers’ Direct Market Wathoora. Directions were issued to the accompanying officers of the department to ensure completion of all development works, well in time, taking full care of quality and engineering skills.
