Dr Suhail Naik has stepped down from the post of president of Doctors Association of Kashmir ( DAK) following his appointment as lecturer paediatrics GMC Srinagar.
The by-laws framed for the constitution of DAK, faculty member of medical colleges can’t be office-bearer of DAK.

General secretary DAK, Dr Owais H Dar while accepting the resignation said that Dr Naik is a multi-talented versatile personality with tremendous capabilities to run the institution and profession. His resignation has created a void in DAK office.

The DAK unanimously selected Dr Mohd Yusuf Tak as its interim president.

Dr Naik while addressing the media said though it is not an easy job to represent the sacrosanct institution of doctors body but representing doctors is one of the graceful happenings in my life. I wholeheartedly thank all supporters and is indebted to all doctors, paramedics, netizens and media houses who have always supported my ideology in the larger interest of patients care and doctors welfare. The beauty of the DAK institution is that Dr Tak who contested the election against me is now the new president, which clearly shows we as doctors fraternity are united.

All the core members of the Doctors Association Kashmir appreciated the moral resignation of Dr Suhail Naik who has worked hard in the last 3 years with honesty, dedication and without any prejudice or bias. The DAK body requested Dr Naik to work as an advisor for DAK, till the next elections are held.
