Doda, March 27: In a first, District administration Doda is all set to organize Union Territory (UT) level rafting championship on river Chenab tomorrow at Shibnote area of Prem Nagar of Thathri sub division.
This event is the first of its kind of event on river Chenab and the man behind is Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Pal Mahajan.
The rafting will be conducted from Shibnote area upto Krara as this area was designated as safe for rafting.
Last year rafting was done at local level and DC Doda along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar and other officials did rafting and invited everyone to come and enjoy. He had said that they will be holding the rafting championship.
Now, this is becoming a reality and the UT level rafting championship will be organised tomorrow.
Besides rafting, beach volleyball, discuss throw, shot put throw, camp fire and musical chair events will also be held.
SDM Thathri has sent an open invitation to all to come with family and enjoy.
