Srinagar, 20, July 2026: A major wet spell is expected across Jammu & Kashmir during the next 48–72 hours.
Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely over most parts of the J&K during the next 72hrs with the highest impact expected over Jammu region and South Kashmir. Central and North Kashmir may also receive heavy rainfall during this period.
There is a high risk of flash floods, minor flooding, waterlogging, and overflowing streams in vulnerable areas. Cloudbursts, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones are also possible, especially in hilly regions.
People are advised to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable areas, and follow official weather advisories until the weather improves.
