Continuing its drive against underground criminals, absconding in cases of heinous crime, team of Reasi Police arrested a surrendered milltant, a hardcore murder accused Mumtaz Ali @Tahir S/O Ali Mohd R/O Thuroo-Arnas.
On date 15-10-2000 a case FIR no 127/2000 U/S 302, 307, 120-B, 121-A, RPC, 7, 27 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Mahore, it was proved and challan was produced in the court of law on 28-11-2001 against accused Mumtaz Ali @Tahir. To avoid conviction accused remained underground & couldn’t be apprehended since registration of Case FIR against him. A General Warrant of Arrest U/S 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court of JMIC Mahore on 06-12-2001 against him.
Mumtaz joined millitants organizations Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in may 1999, remained as active milltant for 9 years in Mahore-Chassana area, his name was considered as terror in the area as he remained involved in killings of innocent civilians in the area.
20 Cases of Murder were registered against the accused during that period in Police Station Mahore. He remained involved in FIR numbers 48/2004, 150/2001, 73/2001, 110/2004, 117/2004, 148/1999, 30/2005, 86/2005, 96/2005, 9/2006, 24/2006, 25/2006, 46/2006, 67/2006, 88/2005, 36/2006, 40/2006, 57/2006, 64/2006 all under sections, 307, 302, 120-B, 121, 147, 148, 336, 332, 186, 201, 212, 216, 34 RPC, 7, 27, 26, 27 Arms Act of Police station Mahore.
In March 2008 Mumtaz surrendered before security forces alongwith Arms and ammunition i.e AK47 Rifle, 05 AK47 magzines & 02 HE 36 garnedes.
Team of Police Station Reasi traced and produced him in the court and executed the Warrant against him after 20 years.
Reasi police under the command of Sh Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi has launched a special drive under the banner “F’RARI KI GRIFTARI”; arresting the absconders and remained successful in nabbing hardcore notorious habitual criminals who were evading their arrests since years and against whom General Warrants of Arrest are issued by Hon’ble Courts were pending. 43 absconding criminals who were evading arrests since years are arrested and produced in the concerned courts of law in last 12weeks.
