Jammu, Jan. 05: Former General Secretary of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Gaurav Gupta, met with the esteemed Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan Jammu.

During the meeting, Gaurav Gupta submitted a memorandum outlining key demands focused on strengthening public interaction, promoting tourism, and supporting the existing industrial sector in the Union Territory.

Expressing appreciation for the transformative developments witnessed under Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration, Gaurav commended initiatives like “Awam Ki Awaz” for fostering public participation and governance success. He highlighted the positive response to recent Grievances Camps organized by the Director General of Police, emphasizing the need for continued direct interaction between the public and the Lt Governor’s office.

In the memorandum, Gaurav Gupta proposed the establishment of a mechanism facilitating direct communication between citizens and the Lt Governor’s office, aiming to enhance transparency and responsiveness in governance.
Acknowledging the exceptional performance of the Tourism Department under Lt Governor Sinha’s visionary leadership across the UnionTerritory, Gaurav urged for special attention to be given to strengthening tourism in the Jammu region. He identified untapped tourism potential in areas like Sarthal, Bani, Kishtwar, Bhadarwah, and others, proposing that these areas should be declared as hill stations to attract more visitors.

Addressing the industrial sector, Gaurav Gupta emphasized the immediate need for support and financial assistance to sustain and grow existing industries in the Jammu region. He stressed the importance of handholding measures to prevent closures and contribute significantly to the economic growth of the region.

In concluding his memorandum, Gaurav Gupta expressed confidence in Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s leadership, anticipating further progress and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir through dedicated attention to these critical matters.
