Ghat zone of district Doda today won under-17 inter zone cricket tournament being played at sports stadium Doda.
The final match was played between Ghat zone and Bhaderwah zone where Ghat zone outplayed Bhaderwah in every department of the game.
After winning the toss, Ghat zone opted to ball first. Bhaderwah zone while batting first scored 118 runs in slotted 15 overs. Muhammad Absar of Bhaderwah scored a fifty whereas others gave valuable support. From Ghat zone Mansoor Ahmad took three wickets whereas Manzar Tantray took two wickets. Azmat Hussain Wani also took one wicket.
Chasing the target Ghat zone lost the wicket on the very first ball but immediately after that Azmat had a good knock and scored 36 runs in 12 balls. After his dismissal, Samad Tantray took the charge and played till the end. He scored the winning shot.
Earlier, Ghat zone had beaten Doda zone to enter the final whereas Bhaderwah was given walkthrough to the final as Thathri zone team didn’t arrive.
