Srinagar, September 23:

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said that the Government of India (GoI) needs to show a firm political will to create pathways in order to make J&K similar to other states in the country.

Hearing a number of public delegations at the party office in Srinagar, Bukhari said a plethora of problems are plaguing the apparatus of governance in J&K which can only be addressed by a strong political will at the top level of Country’s leadership.

“Since there is no elected government in place, the problems faced by the people especially those related to the unemployment of educated youth in J&K have a serious and negative impact on the overall psyche of citizens. This alarming situation needs an immediate redressal,” Bukhari observed.

Bukhari said that the government of India needs to come forward with some concrete confidence building measures starting with restoration of Statehood that can instill a hope and address the alienation among people. “J&K’s disillusioned youth need a fresh start! The idea is to help build a working trust by addressing important issues which includes redressal of mounting unemployment. Our youth is talented and they just need a hand holding to prove their mettle,” Bukhari observed.

On this occasion, a prominent high court lawyer Sajad Ibrahim Wani joined the Apni Party. He was welcomed by Bukhari and other party leaders into the party fold. “The people in J&K are suffering immensely and the traditional politics has added to their woes. I analyzed the programme and activities of Apni party before making up my mind to join it. Now I have reached the conclusion that my decision was absolutely right. I appeal to the people to give this party a chance to serve them and see the difference,” he observed.

Advocate Wani who hails from Mirgund-Baramulla added that Apni Party is a political platform with a difference. “The practical agenda that is mainly development oriented is the uniqueness of this party. People are already fed up with hollow sloganeering and false hopes so they should support this party which wants to bring a change on the ground,” he appealed.

Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Vice Provincial President, party’s provincial vice president Jagmohan Singh Raina, Noor Mohammad Sheikh District President Srinagar, party leaders Muntazir Mohi-u-Din, Syed Farooq Andrabi, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Dr Samiullah, Advocate Mir Javed and Uzair Ronga also welcomed Advocate Ibrahim Wani on his joining Apni Party.
