Srinagar, Dec, 30: Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Industrial Research ( DSIR) recognized first-of-its-kind Kashmir Advanced Scientific Research Centre (KASRC) under Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).

A letter dated 20,December 2022 issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology reads, “ This is to inform you that it has been decided to accord recognition to Kashmir Advanced Scientific Research Centre, Srinagar Jammu & Kashmir from 30.11.2022 to 31.03.2025.”

KASRC is Kashmir based multidisciplinary research institute, currently functional at a cluster university in Srinagar.

Dr. Shahzad Aasim founder and head of the research center told, “This is a big achievement for Jammu and Kashmir in the area of scientific research of multiple fields. The centre will act as a nursery for knowledge seekers who think out of the box and will act as an inspiration for emerging scientists and scholars to showcase their potential on national and international level.”

He said this is first if it’s kind of autonomous research centre based in J&K which may help to excel in advance technology research.

KASRC is also supported by the department of higher education Jammu & Kashmir and working on the Noval research project titled neuro acoustic research in Collaboration with the department of psychiatry SKIMS medical college and hospital Srinagar.

It is worth mentioning that the research project also gets collaboration with Rosalind Fraklin University of medicine and science in North Chicago USA.
