Says committed to fulfill wishes & aspirations of people of Chenab region: Gupta

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday said that the development deficit and administrative inertia of past five years has compounded the predicaments of people in the Chenab region.

This was said by Zone President, Chenab region Sajad Ahmed kichloo, While Chairing a meeting Chenab valley Zone functionaries at Patnitop District Ramban.  Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta was the Chief Guest on the occasion .Among others  Former Minister, Vice President Jammu Province Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy was also present on the occasion.

During the course of meeting the party functionaries highlighted the  dilapidated conditions of roads in the region. ” Chenab valley lights up J&K .Revenue generated from the mineral excavation in our region contributes fills the coffers of government. Despite being a hot spot of economic activity , the successive government’s since 2015 have been adopting pick and chose approach in ensuring basic civil amenities to the people of this remote region. The situation with regards to development in Chenab region has worsened after the decisions of August, 5 , 2019.  lack of basic and effective amenities in the region deflates the tall claims of incumbent administration on equitable development. The region lacks in education, health, road infrastructure. Nothing substantial is been done to give impetus to the development prospects of the region,”he said.

Most of our educated and skilled youth used to eye for jobs in the local government projects but the post abrogation scenario which marked the flight of local jobs to outsiders chocked what little employment opportunities our youth had, he added. “Today the number of job scavenging youth in Chenab region have increased exponentially. Doors of employment opportunities for youth are being closed systematically  by outsourcing engineers, and labourers in local hydro, and road projects. The chapter most abrogation has seen a marked decline in household incomes of our people in Kishtwar, and Doda districts,”he said.

Revering to the selective Security being provided to the political activists, Kichloo said that administration was curry favouring with a particular political party. “No universal rule for providing security cover to political activists is being followed. Undeterred by such bias, our party men, workers and functionaries are shouldering the worries of people in an unphased manner. We will continue to stand with our people, come what may,” he added.

Demanded the restoration of Statehood and restoration of abridged constitutional and democratic rights of the people of J&K, Gupta said, ” It was said that the decisions of August 5 , 2019 will unfurl a new dawn of development in J&K.contrarily the region has been pushed into a deep chasm of uncertainty, development deficit and administrative inertia.”

“BJP has long been showcasing itself as a benefactor of the people of Jammu but when it comes to raising voice for protecting the exclusive rights of Jammuites on their jobs, mineral resources, local trade and business, the so called benefactors Protection of Jobs and lands in J&K on the pattern of Ladakh UT, the so called benefactors remain tongue-tied,” Gupta added.

Connectivity has long remained a pressing issues in the region but the successive government’s since 2015,Gupta said have failed to upgrade and augment local road infrastructure. “Connectivity of railways from Udhampur to Kishtwar and Jammu to Bhaderwah has also been put into cold storage. Providing civic facilities to people seems ,is not in the to-do-list of the government. People are hankering for potable water, electricity, health care facilities in the remote areas of Padder, Marwah, Dacchan, Bunjwah, Gandoh, Chatroo, Rajgarh, Gool, Khari, Neel, Marmat. Their agony continues to remain unheard.”
