JAMMU, NOVEMBER 14:
The government today asked the concerned Administrative Secretaries to initiate a fresh exercise immediately for reconstituting the Commissions/Authorities continued in terms of Section 95 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019.
According to a communiqué issued by the General Administration Department here today, the Acts which guide the constitution of such Commissions/Authorities in terms of Section 95 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 include The Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010; The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Commission Act, 2011; The Jammu and Kashmir Ombudsman for Panchayats Act, 2014; The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002 and The Jammu and Kashmir Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1997.
The communiqué further reads that following the formation of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh on 31 October 2019, all the current appointees of the said Commissions/Authorities are deemed to have held office only till the appointed day i.e. October 31, 2019.
