Jammu, August 27: The Government released all the 26 Yuva Rajput Sabha leaders from Kathua jail in small hours on Sunday, a day after Jammu observed a complete bandh demanding their release, while calling for scrapping of Sarore Toll Plaza and smart meters.

These leaders , including Rajan Singh Happy and other top ranking leaders, were arrested after they protested and captured Sarore toll Plaza on August 21, demanding suspension of toll .
The development comes a day after Jammu observed complete shutdown on Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s call in solidarity with the detained YRS leaders.
The YRS leaders were released in wee hours from Kathua Jail and were taken to their respective homes in police vehicles.
“Most of the leaders were escorted back to their native place in police vehicles while many were still on their way,” they said.
Earlier, Police had said that the arrested persons will only be released after surety from prominent members of the civil society that they won’t cause any further breach of peace
