Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of 6.2°C today, the lowest temperature recorded there since 15 May this year.
The sharp drop in night-time temperatures could be an early indication that the summer heat is gradually beginning to retreat across Jammu & Kashmir.
This does not mean that Jammu & Kashmir will not witness above-normal temperatures in the days ahead. However, the overall trend should gradually shift towards less hot and humid daytime conditions, marking a slow transition towards autumn.
