A fierce encounter has broken out between militants and security forces in Kulgam area of south Kashmir.
The encounter started at Hatipora orchards.
Kulgam, Apr 10 (KNO): An encounter broke out between militants and government forces in orchards of Hatipora area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, an official said.
Police sources said that the encounter started after security forces acting on the specific inputs gathered by the J&K police cordoned the suspected hideout of militants. The militants opened fire thus starting the gunfight. Security forces asked the militants to surrender before replying to the gunfire.
It may be recalled that security forces had killed seven militants on Friday.
