A Delhi resident died of coronavirus while allegedly waiting for help at the LNJP Hospital. His daughter took to Twitter to seek help from the Delhi govt, but to no avail. Later, she said that her father has died.

New Delhi, June 4:

A Delhi resident took to Twitter on Thursday to plead that she had been waiting with her Covid positive father outside the LNJP Hospital in Delhi but received no help for hours. She posted a second tweet after an hour saying her father has passed away. This triggered massive outrage on social media as people slammed the Kejriwal government for failing act on her repeated appeals.

The Twitter user with the name ‘Amarpreet’ @amar_hrhelpdesk said at 8:05 am, “My dad is having high fever. We need to shift him to hospital. I am standing outside LNJP Delhi & they are not taking him in. He is having corona, high fever and breathing problem. He won’t survive without help. Pls help. (sic)”.

After an hour, at 9:08 am came her next tweet: “He is no more. The govt failed us.”

The tweet has triggered angry reactions from many Twitter users, including BJP leader Kapil Mishra, who has slammed the Kejriwal government for not acting on time.

The Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP), which is a designated coronavirus hospital in Delhi and has over 1,000 beds available (as per the Delhi Corona app) has said, “The patient was received brought dead in the casualty section.”

Doctors at the LNJP hospital also said that patient was not refused by them but was advised home quarantine by the Ganga Ram Hospital after being tested positive for coronavirus.

The hospital has said the patient, who was a resident of Greater Kailash area in south Delhi, was brought to the hospital casualty section in an unconscious state. He was later declared brought dead.

Meanwhile, several Twitter users slammed the Kejriwal government for failing to take timely action to save the man despite repeated appeals by his daughter in which she tagged Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and other AAP leaders.

The woman also appealed for help on June 2, two days before her father passed away.

“My father is corona positive and in Delhi, no helpline is responding @ArvindKejriwal @msisodia @dilipkpandey. Immediate support is needed,” she wrote.

Later, in another tweet, she also thanked AAP MLA Dilip Pandey “for immediate action”.

However, her calls for help fell on deaf ears on Thursday when her father passed away waiting for treatment.
