Solan, August 01 : Asserting full faith in healthcare system of Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College and Hospital (MMMCH) scores of cross-section of people from Solan and surrounding areas attended the health camps organized by its Community Medicine Departement.

National Medical Commision has envisaged a Family Adoption Programme to promote health and wellness of families and make a healthier community

In this regard, two health and wellness camps were organized by the Department of Commmity Medicine, MMMCH, Solan on 29th Jul 2024 for the admission batch 2022 under family adoption programme.

The first camp was organized at Panchayat Bhavan Bohli. The camp was attended by 147 residents of this area. In the camp the doctors screened for common diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. Specialists from the Departments of Medicine, Obs and Gynae and Paediatrics thoroughly examined the Patients. Tests like hemoglobin, blood sugar, blood pressure were done free of cost and free medicines were also provided to the attendees. Students from Govt Primary School Bohli and Gsss, Bohli were also screened for anemia.

On the occasion, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Bohli, Shri Bheem Singh, President, BDC, Solan, Smt Sneh Lata, Pradhan, Mahila Gram Sangathan, Bohli were also present.

Another health screening camp was organized at BL Central Sr. Sec. School, Solan. Around 80 Students were screened for anemia, obesity and malnutrition in this camp. Twenty-two students were found to be anemic and were started on iron supplements. Besides, de-worming medicines were dispensed to students.

Dr. Harshdeep Joshi and Dr. Jai Gopal Vohra from the Department of Community Medicine thanked for the support from the Gram Panchayat Bohli, BL Central Sr. Sec. School and administration of MMMCH, Solan to make these camps a success.
