To ensure the safety of the commuters and drivers plying on NH-44 and on the request of NHAI, the District Magistrate Udhampur vide Order No. DMU/JC/648 dated 30-07-2026 and the District Magistrate Ramban vide Order No. ADMR/927-37 dated 30-07-2026 (copies enclosed) have accorded permission to NHAI for the widening of the hill-side carriageway at Ladha, Samroli and the removal of loose overhanging debris near Gangroo, Kishtwari Pather between Udhampur and Banihal stretch of NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar National Highway). Accordingly, Traffic shall remain completely suspended on NH-44 tomorrow i.e 31-07-26.
In view of the suspension of Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), the movement of all kinds of vehicles shall remain suspended between Jakheni (Udhampur) and the NAVYUG Tunnel (Banihal) so as to facilitate restoration in between Jakhiani (Udhampur) and Banihal.
Consequently, No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed beyond Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Patnitop, etc and vice versa and beyond Qazigund towards Ramban, Udhampur and Jammu etc. after 2200 hrs (10:00 p.m.) today.…..
