Delhi, July 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded Jammu and Kashmir police’s heroism and acts of honour and honesty that leave indelible mark on the lives of people.
Tweeting in reference to the act of two Traffic Police officials of Jammu and Kashmir ASI Darshan Kumar and Head Constable Satpal who found a bag of a lady pilgrim from Gujarat and handed the bag full of money and other precious items to her.
Amit Shah while lauding the role of J&K Police and two traffic police official in particular , tweeted : True heroism lies in our acts of honour and honesty that leave an indelible mark on the lives we touch.”
“ASI Darshan Kumar and HC Satpal of the J&K Police proved this saying correct. They found a bag that contained ₹80000, a mobile phone, and Yatra documents. They traced out its owner, a pilgrim, and handed it over to her. I appreciate them for being an example of integrity.”
It may be recalled that the two policemen had found the bag in a parking lot where they were deployed . The bag belonged to one pilgrim Yasoda Behan W/O Manu Bhai R/O A-( Akash Ganga Society IOC Road Chand Khada , Ahmedabad , Gujrat. It was handed over to her in presence of her husband . Yesterday DGP J&K Police Dilbag Singh had greatly appreciated this sense of duty of ASI Darshan Kumar and Head Constable Satpal . He has also announced a reward for them .
When the act of honesty, integrity and sense of duty reached Centre, Union Home Minister tweeted his own appreciation for the J&K police . He pinned the picture of the two traffic policemen in his tweet.
