In a move aimed at revolutionizing the tourism and hospitality sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union territory Government , under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha , has entered into an alliance with world renowned travel tech group Oyo group @oyorooms to initiate and promote the rural home stay project . This will give boost to the rural economy and generate employment opportunities for the youth interested in becoming self-reliant.


This project has been named as “ Crown of Incredible India” ,this represents the status of Jammu and Kashmir as crown of the country . The idea was conceived and now implemented by the Lieutenant Governor who is driving past goals of making J&K economically self-reliant and making the youth of the UT a big stakeholder in the whole process. It, in the words of Manoj Sinha, is to encourage micro-entrepreneurs in the villages as it will also revitalize local art and crafts and redevelopments of rural areas.


L G Sinha who took office in J&K on August 7, 2020, has initiated innovative ideas , put them into practice , with the partnership of the world-renowned and credible groups at the international level with a view to trigger employment opportunities for the youth,.
He said “ Undoubtedly, nature has blessed J&K with great scenic beauty& rural home stays will offer a piece of eternal culture, cuisine, tradition and warm and friendly hospitality of J&K UT to domestic& Int’l travelers. By Dec this year ,around 200 home stays will be available on OYO platform.


This new initiative will empower local communities, youth and women, fulfilling the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Through vocal for local products, individuals and enterprises will help in poverty alleviation & sustainable development., he observed.
