Srinagar, October 22 : The Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club has severely condemned the attack on construction workers in Gagangeer on Sunday in which seven precious lives were lost , its chairman Mushtaq Chaya has demanded through probe into it and demanded foolproof security for construction workers and others to instill confidence among the stakeholders in tourism industry.
In a statement , the Hoteliers Club has noted that “ since the Tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir is the backbone of our economy , and any attack on the workers or infrastructure projects directly affects our livelihood.” This point was stressed by Chaya as he underscored the importance of tourism industry that not only enriches local economy but also is an interface with the outside world through tourists .
Chaya’s statement was a reminder to the authorities that the momentum gained in expanding peace and tourist footfall needs to be sustained in full measure necessitating security and sense of security among all . In particular, the Hoteliers Club , insisted the infrastructural projects were in need of this sense of security after attack on construction workers at Z-Morh tunnel that is going to be lifeline of the area .
Chaya added. “We appeal to the government to ensure the safety and security of all individuals involved in the development of our region, so that we can continue to build a prosperous future for our people.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club has also expressed its condolences to the family of the doctor from Budgam who lost his life in the attack. The club has emphasised the importance of safeguarding the lives of healthcare professionals and other essential workers who are contributing to the welfare of the community.
